Garth Brooks creates an alter ego that has black, straight hair and wears skinny pants and sings rock music. the Life of Chris Gaines" (or Chris Gaines' "Greatest Hits" as it was released) is like a fever dream. But NEVER have we encountered a concept that has been so poorly executed as today's album. From the greats, like The Wall and Deloused in the Comatorium, to some of the less greats, such as Songs about Jane and Christmas in the Stars. Guys, we've done a lot of concept albums.

Here we have Styx "Kilroy was Here", the album that made the group disband for the first time. However, for the most-part these break up albums so far have shown us some amazing songwriting, and they are still supporting each other artistically, like in Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours". From Iron Maiden's guitarist Adrian Smith leaving after "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" to the immediate crumbling of the relationships in Pink Floyd during and after "The Wall" sometimes bands need to change how they are doing things and who is involved. We've discussed many albums on this podcast that are considered the album that fundamentally changed the band from that point forward.
